Surrey-Newton-Guildford Project Update

In light of the resolution passed by the City of Surrey council on November 5, work on the Surrey-Newton-Guildford LRT Project is pausing and the RFQ process is suspended while we await direction from the Mayors’ Council and TransLink Board.

Modern, street-level LRT will transform the City of Surrey into vibrant, connected communities where people live and work. It will bring together mobility and affordability, and will be designed to integrate into the communities it serves.

The project envisions LRT service running from Surrey Central, to both Newton Exchange and Guildford Exchange. With 11 stops total, each designed to integrate well with the surrounding street, the first phase decreases commute times while keeping businesses accessible.
